Earlier this month, the Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District (BID) and Queens Night Market announced its second annual outdoor pop-up market at 40th Street and Queens Boulevard, under the elevated 7 train.
The pop-up markets ran on June 29 and 30, and will also be held on July 27 and 29, August 24 and 25, and September 28 and 29. They will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
“We continue to look for ways to highlight the creativity of our neighborhood’s small businesses, entrepreneurs and artisans while meeting the shopping needs of our residents,” said Jaime-Faye Bean, executive director of Sunnyside Shines. “We’re excited about the options and opportunities the Lowery Pop Up Market will bring.”
More than 15 rotating vendors will participate each day, selling gift items ranging from 3-D printed jewelry and fine ceramics to handmade swaddlers and artisan candles.
Popular food vendors will also sell small-batch ice cream, Romanian-Hungarian chimney cakes and more.
“We’re always looking to activate public spaces in a way that is mutually beneficial for entrepreneurs and the surrounding community,” said John Wang, founder of the Queens Night Market.
