As the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rise throughout New York City, so too does the number of hungry and homeless.
To support those in need, various Maspeth, Queens businesses and organizations have been stepping up and showing true compassion to those affected.
Recently, Maspeth's own Martin Luther School partnered with City Harvest to provide food to the hungry and homeless.
Under the leadership of School Pastor, Sean Chapman, MLS brought together volunteers during two days in January and February to prepare a total of 1,850 bags, containing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a fresh apple, and hand- written inspirational notes of support and love from their student volunteers.
Students helped load the food on to City Harvest of NY trucks for distribution to the homeless around Queens and NYC.
Martin Luther School is located at 60-02 Maspeth Ave in Maspeth, Queens. They can be reached via phone at (718) 894-4000. Follow their Instagram here.
